INDIANA: Victoria National Golf Course
Location: 2000 Victoria National Blvd, Newburgh, IN 47630
Contact No.: (812) 858-8230
Victoria National Golf Club is located on 400 acres of former strip mine property in Southern Indiana. The course features stunning, deep-seated lakes dug out of the coal mining operation that serve as mesmerizing potential risks for golfers. As far as holes go, there isn't one at Victoria National that isn't good. There is native vegetation and trees on the property, but it does not feel cramped.
In 2012, Victoria National hosted the Web.com Tour and was praised for its conditions, complexity, and aesthetic value.
WISCONSIN: Whistling Straits Golf Course
Location: N8501 Lakeshore Rd, Sheboygan, WI 53083
Contact No.: (800) 618-5535
Multiple courses are accessible, and they're all very popular, making it a golf powerhouse. Golfers can get a sense of the engineering feat it took to transform the Lake Michigan shoreline into a surrealist impression of Ireland by looking up and down the coast at the Whistling Straits' edges. Although the greens were in excellent condition and the course layout was challenging, you really need to be playing your best to beat it. You will enjoy your time here no matter how you play or what your scorecard ends up looking like.
There are several memorable championships that have taken place at the Straits, including the Ryder Cup in 2021 and three PGA events in 2004, 2010, and 2015.
IOWA: The Harvester Golf Course
Location: 1102 330th St, Rhodes, IA 50234
Contact No.: (641) 227-4653
As a golf course with a championship 18-hole golf course, the Harvester Golf Club offers high-end amenities to the public. Every aspect of the course is in excellent condition, from driving range to greens and everything in between.
In addition to Lake Harvester, the course also features several small ponds and streams. Excellent course winds its way through the hills with some nice elevation changes, but none that are impactful. All golfers can test their skills on five sets of tees, with fairways set in a rolling prairie landscape with little sign of nearby settlements.
MICHIGAN: Crystal Downs Country Club
Location: 249 Crystal Downs Dr, Frankfort, MI 49635
Contact No.: (231) 352-9933
A basic 9-hole layout was first put into play in 1927, but this course was altered and extended to 18 holes by Alister Mackenzie and Perry Maxwell throughout the years.
They spotted a chance to work on a magical piece of property once they arrived at this pristine golfing area set on a 100-foot-high sand-ridge overlooking both Crystal Lake and Lake Michigan.
