This year's Chicago summer is in full throttle, and the city's food scene is taking advantage of it. New restaurants are starting to emerge to accommodate hungry diners. We'd like to assist you in finding some new places to try with our diverse list of new food experiences in the city.


Here are some of the most recent restaurant openings to be aware of.






Fancy Plants Kitchen

In this new Lincoln Park restaurant, you can enjoy a five-course vegan feast. Also, cashew ricotta toast, tofu scrambles, cauliflower wings and waffles are all available on the weekend brunch menu.






Oriole

Oriole serves an extended New American tasting menu in a 28-seat dining room. A true Chicago pride, this two-Michelin-starred restaurant features a refined dining experience that is both amiable and aesthetically pleasing. The lounge and bar area are also available for a nightcap.

Let Sochi Saigonese Kitchen take you on a gastronomical tour of Vietnamese cuisine. Its menu has favorites like pho, Goi vit Thanh Da, Nui Suon Bo Ba Ngoai, and bahn mi. Diners can drink a bottle of Saigon Special, a Vietnamese pale ale that complements the sweet, flavorful, and spicy flavors of the food, as well as some traditional Vietnamese coffee and tea, mixed drinks, and Chicago brews.

Handmade pastas are the focus here in this newly opened Italian restaurant, like seafood tagliatelle and bucatini cacio e pepe. Decorated in neutral earth tones and dark wood, Gioia Ristorante E Pastificio also has a 22-seat bar that offers Maplewood’s Son of Juice IPA and five Italian brews.







Brunch 'N' Burgers Chicago

Dear Margaret

Rooted in classic technique, this new French-Canadian restaurant uses fine Midwestern ingredients to bring homey, inviting food to Lakeview. Its charred smoked carrots, duck liver mousse, Quebec foie gras torchon, and tourtière are a nod to its chef's French-Canadian ancestors.






Kasama

Kasama is a French café and modern Filipino restaurant that serves classic Filipino dishes, such as lumpia, adobo chicken wings, and barbecue pork skewers, as well as the iconic Filipino breakfast with garlic fried rice, fried egg, and pickled papaya. This is also an onsite bakery that features sweet and savory pastries.
